As our Human Resources Business Partner, you will work with the COO to source extraordinary talent across all locations while driving culture initiatives for existing team members. As the point of contact for external and internal talent, your daily focus will be acting as the liaison between our PEO (professional employer organization) and our employees, but will also have responsibility for talent management, team training and development, compensation and benefits management, and legal compliance.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the department.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Deliver the full range of HR generalist services to managers and team members with an emphasis on team member relations, compliance, benefits administration, recruiting, and implementation of HR programs. Direct responsibility for the knowledge, application, and compliance with current labor laws, rules, and regulations.
  • Ability to provide guidance on managing complex organizational and people issues. In charge of team member relations including, investigations, team member counseling and documentation, and the termination process.
  • Partners with the leadership team to identify training and development opportunities.
  • Create/manage job descriptions and post jobs.
  • Conduct regular employee background checks.
  • Ensures CE is being managed for all employees whose certification(s) require CE (via software)
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel:

  • Travel may be required at different times during the year.
  • Travel time estimate 5-10%.

Experience:

  • Qualified candidates will have a bachelor’s degree and ideally 3-5 years HR experience (in the financial industry is a bonus).
  • Experience maintaining strict confidentiality of data and information.
  • A collaborative partner who seeks to leverage others’ expertise in pursuit of establishing best practices.
  • Ability to influence and manage company-wide initiatives over many physical locations.
  • Excellent phone presence with refined email and social media best practice expertise
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and recommend solutions to improve team members’ performance, engagement, and retention.
  • Self-starter who needs little oversight with a creative mind and a track record of putting ideas into practice and assessing results.
  • Desire to work “solo” in an HR department with demonstrated success in a fast-paced, fast-growing business environment.
  • Maintains current knowledge and understanding of regulations, industry trends, current practices, new developments, and applicable laws regarding Human Resources issues.
  • The talent to manage multiple priorities simultaneously and demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and attention to detail. Deliver to deadlines with strong follow-up skills, problem resolution, and strategic thinking.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
