Women’s Wealth Connection Supports Wine, Women & Shoes Fundraiser

Written on October 1, 2021

Women’s Wealth Connection (WWC) recently served as a sponsor for Wine, Women & Shoes, an annual fundraiser held by Birmingham businesswomen and sponsors to support the many programs of Baptist Health Foundation.

Wine, Women & Shoes took place on Tuesday, September 21st, and some of Women’s Wealth Connection’s Birmingham financial advisors and client consultants were in attendance. Pictured below (from left to right) are Elizabeth Brasher, J.D., CWS, Laura Pearson, Heather Locklar, J.D. and Barbara Blackerby, CPA, of Birmingham.

Attendees got to taste wines from specially selected wineries, shop with local and national vendors, bid on multiple silent auction items, enter to win exciting prizes, socialize with other local businesswomen in the area and more as a way to help support Baptist Health Foundation.

Baptist Health Foundation is a healing ministry that serves as a bridge to the Baptist Health System’s uninsured patients and helps fund pastoral care in its hospital, assists employees in need, provides educational opportunities for medical professionals and contributes to the betterment of the local Birmingham community.

Funds raised last year paid for the installation of NICVIEW cameras in Neonatal Intensive Care Units throughout the Brookwood Baptist Health system. These cameras provided peace of mind and allowed families to develop bonds with their newborns—even when they were not at their bedsides.

This year, proceeds will go towards the pastoral health program, which has been fundamental in bridging the connection between patients and their family members who have been unable to be physically present because of COVID-19 restrictions. Pastoral care is at the heart of Baptist Health Foundation’s mission, and it is critically important to the foundation’s patients, physicians and employees.
